In order to have a successful business as a photographer, you need to find ways that will help your business grow and keep it afloat in today’s competitive market. One of those ways could be by offering mini session photo packages, not only do they provide customers with more affordable options but they also bring them back into your studio again and again which helps build up relationships with clients and increase word-of-mouth advertising within the community. This blog post will provide you with pricing strategies and examples on how you can start your own photo business selling affordable mini sessions.
The first thing to consider when a pricing a mini session is what type of package you are offering. It could be that it is just one print or an entire collection of images, maybe including some digital files or printed products. In this way, you can easily decide on which products you are going to include in the packages you are going to create.
Canvas are a great way to have a souvenir of the mini session, not only it adds as an art to your lovely home but it will definitely be a piece of memory you can keep. They also make wonderful gifts for friend and/or family members.
A good album can be your “big wow” factor for your package. They help give the recipient an extra reason to love what you’ve put together, and they can be made with any size frame in mind. In fact, a great album sets you apart from the competition and it makes people want to buy what you are selling right away.
Cards are the most affordable and the perfect token of appreciation when it comes to occasions or holidays. They can be used as a simple way of showing thanks, gratitude, and satisfaction with what you have received without having any elaborate setup required.
Just like pricing your actual mini sessions, you need to set an income goal or you need to determine how much you need or want to make with these packages you’re going to create. The basics you can do is $300, $500, and $700. Decide the products you are going to include with each package and determine if these products are the perfect ones for the package. For $300, you can include 6 digital files if a piece of those costs $50 and you can add an 8×10 holiday/frame print. $500 package can have 12 digital files and a 16×20 canvas. $700 package; which is your biggest package can have 15 to 16 digital files, 16×20 canvas, 5 prints, and an album.
These are just examples so you can definitely change these or create yours. Having a good deal package could totally bring your business up a notch since a lot of customers would be interested in your work and products.
Having your own business means you are the one to decide things that would benefit your business. If you want to offer your customers a la carte, you can definitely do that as well as offering them packages. A la carte is a good thing to offer if the customers prefer to purchase individual products instead of bulk. Package is a good way to offer them several products and they can save money when they try to avail these packages you have. If you are going to ask me, I’d rather offer the customers both so that they have more options to choose from and not only from the a la carte or from the packages you will offer them. Having these options can make them more interested in purchasing your products.
